THE COUNTER REVOLUTION

I don’t know what else to call my generation, but, counter revolution, I think should mean going counter to revolutions. Which is what my generation of people has always done. At least, I think we have. None of us, were into the hippie thing. Mostly because we weren’t old enough at the time for the VIET NAM war. And most of us didn’t really get into drugs, but, getting into drugs is something every generation has had to deal with somehow. It used to be the drug that everyone had to worry about was ALCOHOL, still is for that matter. Only now, it’s legal. But now the drug of choice is MARIJUANA I mean now, if you get caught with even a miniscule amount in your possession, you can be put behind bars where taxpayer money will feed you, clothe you and house you, all without your say so. A big waste of money, I think, but, one may argue, that it’s against the law. Well, hell the consumption of ALCOHOL used to be against the law also. At least it was until people realized that the law couldn’t prevent people from consuming this DRUG, so it was made legal again after it was already legal to consume this drug. Well, the big difference now, between the use of the DRUG ALCOHOL and MARIJUANA is that MARIJUANA consumption supposedly can lead to other DRUG use, or abuse. The only drug use, or abuse I can, possibly, see it leading to the abuse of is the DRUG ALCOHOL. Where this is all leading to is my own abuse of the DRUG MARIJUANA, and the only DRUG I can remember it causing me to abuse was ALCOHOL. Now, why MARIJUANA abuse scares so many people, when ALCOHOL abuse doesn’t, is beyond me. We’d, probably, have the same scenario for MARIJUANA as we do now for ALCOHOL. I can just see it now, there would probably be a whole new industry geared towards MARIJUANAHOLICS like ALCOHOLICS. There would be a twelve step program , instead of a three step program that we have now for WEEDAHOLICS, jail time, more crime, jail time again, all at taxpayers expense, then finally when the "PERP" supposedly gets sober, he/she gets released back into society which is where they’ll go even if they do some jail time. Let me remind you that all that jail time, is at the taxpayers expense. And I don’t know about you, but, I don’t wanta be footin the bill for a bunch of lazy ass slobs, who would probably wind up begging for money in the grocery store parking lot with a sign saying "OUT OF WORK" like any of those people ever had any work to begin with. It’s kind of hard to be out of work if you never had any work to begin with. I’M writing this because while I’VE never been poor enough to need to beg for what I need, I HAVE done the DRUG ABUSE scene. Something I am not real proud of, but, it happened. Just like my decision to become a CHRISTIAN, I made the choice of my own free will, sure a lot of my friends made the same choices I did, but, many of them did not have the ability to recognize when DRUG abuse was detrimental to themselves or others. I was able to realize when this was happening to me. So, when I began to see how detrimental my DRUG abuse was, I simply quit abusing DRUGS. It was as easy to quit abusing DRUGS as it was to start using them in the first place. Now, there’s no way to brag about using drugs. So, I won’t. However, I should tell you that I’VE abused just about every non-prescription drug there is except I never injected anything into myself. I never got THAT involved in it. I have abused COCAINE, MARIJUANA, LSD, PSILOCYBIN, PCP, WHITES, REDS, BLUES, GREENS, PURPLES. You name it. All I can say is, I’M glad that stage of my growth as a human being is over.
