MOB MENTALITY!

This is another one of my many stories, or essays that I’VE written given the idea from a sermon I’VE heard given by GREG DENHAM senior pastor of CALVARY CHAPEL CHURCH OF AUBURN. The first one was GREATNESS, then came PRODIGAL, and there was also my wife’s BAPTISM of course, and I could go on, and on. GREG’S given me lots of ideas for essays to write. So, although, I DO tend to fall asleep during your SERMONS GREG, I’M usually paying attention, just resting my eye that’s all I’M doing. I pay pretty close attention it’s just easier with my eyes closed, and I’M not worried about how I appear to others in church, for two reasons. One most people who know me, know that I have a brain injury, and don'’ expect me to stay awake. And two because, since my TBI, I can’t feel embarrassment. And really I’VE never fallen asleep in there. GREG’S SERMONS are too riveting to sleep through, and GREG’S always breaking things up. And I don’t want to miss one of his jokes. So oh yeah, MOB MENTALITY. GREG was refering to when JESUS was about to be crucified, first of all, there was a mob of people, probably, stoning him, as that’s the kind of thing people used to do back then, but, I should also mention that JESUS performed many miracles just before his crucifixion. So, he had mobs of people all around him then. These were probably the same people who moments later stoned him. You know mob mentality, everyone just had to be in on the crucifixion of JESUS CHRIST in order to feel good about it. You know, if it’s good for JIM it’s gotta be good for me. That’s the kind of stupid mentality I’M writing about. I’M sure ADOLF HITLER took advantage of that kind of mentality when he somehow, convinced many of his countrymen to help exterminate SIX MILLION JEWS, because nobody can try to tell me HITLER did that all by himself! ALEXANDER HAMILTON knew what he was talking about when he said "the masses are asses." Perhaps he had heard a SERMON similar to GREG’S. Because at the time he probably said that I don’t think HITLER had done his DASTARDLY thing yet.

I myself have only witnessed first hand MOB MENTALITY once. I was at an ALLMAN BROTHERS concert at the OAKLAND COLISEUM. We were sitting on the ground outside waiting to go in, we had already gotten tickets when all of a sudden everyone got up expecting to go inside. Only to have our hopes dashed, as it was another of many false alarms. The only thing the people in front of us saw was somebody inside walking past the glass door, as they were glass doors. Well anyhow, because of the mob outside the doors all shoving and pushing in line to get in saw eveyone else moving forward, they all did, pushing some poor soul through one of the glass doors. Ouch THAT must’ve hurt. Now, I’VE seen many things happen at various rock concerts including watching guyd run through the crowd yelling "STRETCHER" and coming back out moments later with some poor OD’ed soul on board, even was there at one free concert in GOLDEN GATE PARK when some lady actually had a baby. Now, that’s one child who’s gotta be free, and easy.:>|)}# Probably, was famous over the years, I’M sure. I can just hear this kid telling his friends,"yeah I was born in the middle of GOLDEN GATE PARK I was even announced into this world by GRACE SLIK of JEFFERSON AIRPLANE/STARSHIP. Can you imagine that? Da. S.R. as before. But, that guy getting pushed through the window has got to be the worst example of human behavior I’VE ever witnessed. So, that’s my take on MOB MENTALITY.
