RACIAL PROFILING!
I thought this would be a good subject to discuss, since I'M sure there are many diverse opinions on this subject. Let me first off say I'M not any color. I have no ethnic coloring whatsoever. At least not that I know of. However, my brother and myself used to make up silly stuff like that we were part "INDIAN" Native American or I don't know what the politically correct term is. Could be, and probably is, ABORIGINAL or something like that. However, I'M not a person of color at all. I DO think this racial profiling is a joke. Oh sure it's meant well. However, I don't think I'D like it very much if I were a person of color. It's just typical of the predominantly WHITE establishment putting down or making it clear that there's a difference, again based solely on skin color. And then one of the procedures involved in this whole thing is for the PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER, when they pull a person over, is to give them their card. Like somebody's going to call him or her on the phone and thank them for giving them a ticket. They wish! If you ask me, and I know nobody asked me, however, I'M going to write what I think any ways. I know RACIAL PROFILING is meant well. Probably, so that people of color, don't feel that they're being arrested, or given a ticket. Based solely on the color of their skin.
I think now while I'M thinking about it, I better tell you why my brother and I used to tell people we originated from ABORIGINAL people. Well, it was because our Uncle STANLEY BARTOS, uncle bumps we called him, was a DIVISION OF INDIAN AFFAIRS AGENT, in WINDOW ROCK AZ. Hence, we mistakenly, wishfully thinking for two young kids thought we were part INDIAN. We weren't at all though our uncle bumps were an INDIAN AGENT that's all.
So, anyhow, I think although racial profiling is meant well if say I were a suspicious "brother," I might tend to think "the man" were trying to compile data on certain aspects, or certain people groups. The word, PROFILING almost sounds like it's a type of data collecting exercise, or a type of categorizing. Possibly, to be used in a negative way in the future. There you have it, my humble opinion about racial profiling. And just so you know, it doesn't really have an effect on me either way. Because 1. I'M not a person of color. And 2 because I don't drive anymore. All this being said, I think if racial profiling be done at all, it should be done for every single citizen of this country.
