RIVEN!
This game is really a pleasing game I don't just mean it's fun to play but there's really a lot of beautiful scenery in this game. You have three different islands on this world to explore. And that's what you do most of the time. You just explore this world. It's almost like you're an ARCHEOLOGIST trying to find out a little about the people/s who lived there before you came to this strange yet beautiful place. Oh there's a story line to follow. However, I got so caught up in the beauty of these three islands, that I soon forgot why I was where I was. Not to mention, what I was supposed to be looking for. I think there're supposed to be puzzles to solve. However, these puzzles were never really very obvious to me. I think I found them, but I don't really know. There were some very fun parts of this game, like when I went in this large cave or underwater cavern, climbed these steps to a throne or chair pushed a lever to have this strange looking device rotate down on a bar to sit right in front of me. There were small buttons with RUNES, I suppose, on them and I would push certain ones. Only to have strange noises made and one of em released a large fish that would swim out from behind these rocks, do a little thing by flipping it's fins in front of me then swim off. Or another one of the RUNE/BUTTONS would cause different color lights to click on out in front of me with the fixtures for these lights mounted on various pipes I think it were. In this way I was learning what the RUNES meant. For instance, the one shaped like a square signified the color yellow, the one shaped like a circle stood for the color pink, and so forth. And then apparently, while you're sitting in the chair, oh yeah before I forget. If you pushed a lever next to the chair, the whole chair would turn giving you a different view of the underwater area. And then if you pushed or pulled another lever just in front of you, another device which looked like a PERISCOPE came down, rotated again, in front of you. And on the outside of this scope was a ring with holes in it. Whereby if you rotated the ring to certain positions, a scene would appear in the scope. The scenes which appeared were all different scenes from throughout the game. One scene was as if you were looking in on somebody walking by the camera or however you were looking in on this scene. The scene showed a very pretty lady putting on a sweater then walking out of the room. I never knew what to make of this. However, I think she was a previous inhabitant on the island. And I was just looking at a scene of something, which had already occurred. For I saw this lovely creature at another place in the game. I saw her get on one of the strange MONORAIL like vehicles, they're called GRAVLEVS or something like that. These GRAVLEVS are really cool little vehicles that take one from island to island. These island hopping rides are the best part of this game. They make you feel as if you're on a ROLLER COASTER. One of these MAGLEVS even takes you through the ocean between islands. It runs on a rail system, which runs overhead. This rail system also takes you not only up where you can see the beauty of this world but also through a cave of water, with small rings, which appear to be on fire holding the water back. This is really a cool adventure. Someone, whomever created this game has quite the imagination. I don't think the scenery in this game, were totally someone's imagination, because I'VE seen many of these scenes before in photos that I get on WEB SHOTS, a collection of photos taken around the globe. It's good to know, that there're places of such beauty that really do exist here on earth. I'VE actually been to at least one such place, and that would be at the top of WAIAMEA CANYON overlooking KALALUA VALLEY on the island of KAWUAI. Another such spot, which seems unearthly is HALEAKALA CRATER on MAUI.
However, one doesn't need to go to the HAWIAN ISLANDS to see such beauty, one can purchase this game RIVEN at their local computer store or on-line, which is how I got it. I know, I'M forgetting to tell many of the places you go to in this game. However, let me just say this, and that is that I guess, you'll have to just find out for yourself how fun the game is.
